What are your commission rates?

As the competition in the commodity brokerage industry has expanded, it has become critical for companies to stay competitive. It has always been the policy at Paragon for commission rates to be negotiable. However, we have found that several investors like to have an idea of commission rates before they contact us.

How do I open an account?

What markets does Paragon trade?

We execute commodity futures, commodity options, single stock futures, stocks, stock options, mutual funds, corporate bonds, municipal bonds, government bonds, and Forex.

Can I transfer my existing account to Paragon Investments, Inc.?

Yes. When completing an account application, simply complete the Transfer Request Form and we will handle the rest – without any additional charges!

How long does it take for an account to be opened?

Once we have received your account documents your account is opened in as little as 15 minutes.

What are your margin requirements?

We observe exchange minimum margin requirements for all markets. Qualifying "Day-Traders" enjoy ½ margin rates for all markets.

Where is the money in my account held?

Commodities: Equity that is not being applied toward margin requirement is held in a segregated account in the account holder's name.

Equities: Excess equity that is not being applied toward an investment can be applied to several different FDIC or money market options of your choice.

Forex: All equity is held on deposit with FXSolutions.

Do you pay interest on excess margin?

Commodities: Interest on excess margin is available by either opening a stock account with us and linking the commodity and stock accounts together or by purchasing a US Treasury Bill. Ninety percent of the Treasury Bill can then be applied towards margin requirements.

Stock / Equities: Excess equity that is not being applied toward an investment can be applied to several different FDIC and money-market (interest bearing) instruments.

What are your rules regarding the margin calls?

All margin calls are required to be met within 5 days of their first notification, except for margin calls greater than $10,000. Margin calls greater than $10,000 are required to be met with a bank wire on their first notification.

What kind of customer statements may I receive?

You will receive a statement when: (1) there is any activity in your account (2) a purchase and/or sale is executed in your account (3) the month ends (monthly statement summary). Account statements can either be mailed or emailed to the address listed on the account documents. Duplicate statements can also be sent to additional addresses upon request. Additionally, all account types have the ability to review their accounts online.
